Surf Shanty Motel

We enjoyed our stay here over Memorial Day weekend. Andre, the property manager, stayed vigilant and helped to keep the noise down from a number of recent college graduates who were also staying. He also had several good recommendations as to what we could do on a rainy weekend. (We loved Crystal’s for breakfast.) We also really enjoyed the free bicycles and rode to Gordon Pond in nearby Cape Henlopen State Park. Though the weather was foggy/rainy, we did stop by the beach - just a 1 minute walk away. Great location, comfortable beds, and hot showers. Rooms are very nicely decorated though would benefit from somewhere to store your clothes. White noise machine was appreciated. The AC also shared some periodic clicking noises with us.

To the owners: Andre is one of the best property managers I’ve seen. He’s attentive, knowledgeable, and - most importantly - he CARES. Don’t lose him!

My family and I had come to stay at Dewey beach for our first time, and found this gem on Hotels.com. I was instantly interested in the motel due to the proximity to the beach and also the price. Once checking in we were very pleased with the cleanliness and attentiveness of the staff in making sure we had everything we needed before settling in. We've had such a great few evenings that we've decided that we will be using this as our yearly beach spot from here on out! Being able to walk down to beach to get to the Rehoboth boardwalk is a bonus, and there are GREAT breakfast and dinner options all within walking distance in Dewey as well. We're very excited to be back next year!

This is the best place to stay at Dewey! The location is unbeatable with just a quick walk to the beach. The rooms are very clean, and are well decorated. Andre, the manager, was very kind and helpful during our stay. I look forward to returning next summer!!
